Has anyone figured out why the filters drip?
Was able to get mine up on ramps today and it was loose - I was able to spin it tight with my hand then put a filter wrench on it for a snug down. Hopefully that is all it was and not a filter defect of some sort.
I have been changing my own oil on cars and motorcycles for a million years and I have never, ever had one work it's way loose so I am going to guess the dealerships just aren't tightening them properly.
Factory Mopar?? It is whatever the dealership used when they did the oil change ~2 months ago - it appeared to be solid black.
I cleaned the drips off my garage floor and will keep tabs on any additional leaking.
Only reason I had the dealership do it was because I dropped it off for the transmission reflash recall and an alignment so I figured I'd have them do the oil while it was with them.
Mine seems to still be dripping oil. Lord knows when I can get back to the dealership but it's nice driving a brand new vehicle with less than 10k miles that leaks oil like my old Rabbit with it's stripped drain plug did.
Oh, and yes the 2014s should be subject to the transmission recall. You can search by VIN.
