Headlight Auto-leveling sensor

So, I had some issues with my auto-leveling going down and staying there so I knew it was a sensor issue, I told the dealer that it was a sensor issue but he said the headlights were actuating, which is different... so finally he tested the sensor and the front one is bad. They dont have any in and are on backorder. Does anyone know where I could pick one up, or the cost to install dealership/non-dealership?

Thanks,
Techyo

Knuckles...I have no idea man. However, from what I have read is:
1. there are two sensors one in the front in/around passenger side wheel well and one in the back.
2. they can go out due to salt exposure. the front one goes out more often.
3. The dealer quoted me a price of ~175 for each sensor and an hour of install time.
4. there is a way to manually adjust the actuating so that it is level till resolved.

Since they are on back order, it would be nice to get a sensor on-line somewhere and have a non-dealership do the install.

Also, I need to find out if there is any actual "programming" or "setup" done once the new sensor is installed. Because this could lead to additional "fees"

Hit me up if you find out any info.

Thanks again!!!

negotiated the price on the sensor to 108 with the dealership since its ~90 wholesale, 100 dealer, and 112 on mopar. so not bad. this was for the front left sensor. 55079007AF. now i just have to negotiate on their install and calibration, shouldnt take more than 30m im guessing. anyone have an estimate?

Can you post up pics when you get it?

I'm in the same boat as Knucks, Chicago used half the worlds supply of salt this winter.

I had the same problem with mine. The dealer first lubricated the drivers side motor then, when it messed up again, they replaced the drivers side headlamp assembly as well as the front & rear sensors. One is on the right side spring area & the other one is in the rear. Luckily, this was done under warranty. Hope this helps. Good luck!
