Air in tires?

Ok so I have the 2012 GC SRT8 and my wife just got the 2012 300C. The first thing I noticed is that her tires came with Nitrogen in them. Has anyone switched their trucks over to nitrogen? If you have do you notice a difference at all?

I run nitrogen. Came like that from the dealer. Just do a google search on nitrogen filled tires. It has its benefits. I prefer nitrogen filled.

HaHa! Gonna stir up a hornet's nest with this one. Mine came with nitrogen. Dealership put it in. Compared to my other vehicle with Pirelli's I haven't had square tires yet or had to add anything. And contrary to what someone else posted that it was not recommended. I was curious why and called SRT hotline, who contacted engineers they stated that Nitrogen was recommended. Kinda like saying Coke or Pepsi. More than likely the 300 also got a warranty with it if they used Nitrofill. So you have a great test bed. One with, and one without.

Nitrogen isn't corrosive to rubber like compressed air, leaks slower through rubber, more stable, and a few other key benefits.

I got Nitrogen when I switched from run-flats to regular tires on the SRT, primarily because if I joined a nitro club through my tire dealer I get roadside assistance with it for my non run flats. Biggest benefit I was looking for was more consistent tire pressure between cold/hot temps - I'm not seeing that, still goes up and down a fair number of pounds. Went back and had them "re-filled" (aka re-sucked of oxygen) to a higher percentage, same thing still happening. So I'm still on the fence about Nitrogen being a benefit.

The reason it may get better gas mileage is that you're not suppose to put air in it as often. Because most people don't add air to thier tires until thier really low. I'm suprized I haven't heard it called snake oil yet. Honestly, see if you like it in your car. Kinda like opinions on CAI's. It's all in how it works for you.
