Alright guys, just got my 3rd ticket here in a while and I just cant handle paying these. Its not like im driving so far over the speed limit either (78 and 79 in 70, a 62 in 55 and last one was 75 in 70 not kidding). So not looking for anything crazy like radar jammers or anything, just want a good radar detector and have landed on the Valentine one as ive heard very good things about it, also the range is better in each comparison I seen then other ones like escort but just have friends with valentine one and ive seen first hand how far away they pick up radar. If anyones looking to get rid of theirs of know someone who is then let me know. Also if anyone knows a good place when I could pick one up for a deal then let me know too, just looking to not pay 400 bucks. Thanks guys!

Valentine's tend to false frequently. I have an escort 9500ix and it barely falses...it also learns where you drive and cuts down on the false alerts even more.

I have a Valentine and I recommend it for sure! I think if I didn't have it I would be in prison right now for so many tickets....Young and stupid I was, that's for sure. I will look around for you and see if I can find a cheap one!

Ive heard this too, did you pick up your 9500ix new? heard the differences between the 9500ix and 9500i are dramatic too. Im not totally against getting a escort, after using the search for a while back i figure they are so close its not gunna be too huge of a difference.

Passport 9500ix IMO. Works awesome and with GPS and auto learning. It hardly gives false alerts. It's a real deal when it goes off for Ka/K band. Saver my butt many times. I'd only upgrade it for the 9500ic (concealed unit)

There's no set standard when they test those radars out like that. Results will vary location to location. Results depend on many factors. I saw that article and other when I made my choice. Spend a good day googling different systems and see what you think is best.

Radar jamming is illegal because ur messing with radio waves but laser is not I've been shot multiple times it goes back to the gun as a miss. The device jams laser but picks up radar like a normal radar detector...I have beltronics

My V1 works great ...........especially the arrows. I am a fan of the early escort and passport technology, and Valentine is very similar in that way.

V1 gives off false alarms but its better to be safe and slow down then chance it anyways. But the 9500ix u have to pay for a year membership to use all the features, I personally don't have a escort but my buddy has the 9500ix and just got a ticket awhile back so I went with the V1
