I'm having an issue with my turn signals staying on even with the stalk in the normal position. I did a search and found this to be a common problem, but I'm out of warranty and would like to fix myself if removing the stalk can be done without tearing the steering column apart. Any diy guys try this or have any insight?

That is part of the "clock spring" Its not a cheap part. I have a picture of it somewhere.

Thanks, I had read the stalk would be a bit pricey, but would like to save the labor costs if possible.
