Tire Shop Scratched 2 wheels-blowing me off

It is not real bad, but damn it-I have been very carefull about not curbing these wheels. I asked them if they could handle these wheels and that they will scratch easily. Evidently they put 2 new guys on it, because it took them 2 !/2 hours to rotate and balance them. They had to mount and dismount them because they are directional tires.

No sorry, no nothing-just here's your bill. If I wanted to sell them, it devalues them. I am so angry, I cant get a clear shot with the camera shaking. How do you think I should proceed?

What can you do but go back and ask to speak to the manager or owner and hope they make it right?

I hate taking anything to anybody to be worked on. It has gotten so bad that I am actually amazed if anything is done correctly and doubly amazed if they cause no extra damage.

Evidently the decision maker is at another shop across town, so I guess I will have to go there. It just amazes me how they were like it was no big deal to scratch 2 $1400 wheels. I dont even know if there is a wheel repair shop here. And then having to be without the car while it gets repaired. I would have been happy if they offered some services at no charge, but now seeing how their attitude is, I really dont want them to touch my car again. Thanks for posting up.

How did you rotate staggered tires?

Take it up with the owner...if he gives you the shaft get your lawyer to write them a letter. Send it certified mail. The letter will wake them up...

yes they are directional, but you still cannot rotate them because they are wider in the rear.

Side to side. They had to dismount, remount and balance. Usually it takes 1 guy 30 to 45 minutes. Took these 2 guys 2.5 hrs.

Suprisingly, the beast has never road smoother.... So they did a great job of balancing

Yeah similar thig happen to me at a local Discount Tire and they took off some of the powder coat on the edge of one of my freshly powder coated wheels. They started talking smack about the Powder coat job.. So to make a long story short I never got paid for the damage as to why i will never buy anything from them again... Discount Tire sucks balls man! *** Discount tire!

However your damge is different and they should pay if you vcan make their ass.....

Thought about that, but not sure those scratches are worth it. I dont think any judge would make them replace the wheels for this. I think they should make up for the devaluation difference though. Just dont know what that number should be.

This wasnt discount tire or a large national chain, but a local shop with 4 locations.

You got a point.....

I'm nothing special man..... just one of the regular guys on here who has learned quite a lot over the years about the Jeeps like everyone else. There's a pretty sweet core of owners on here who will tell ya the same thing I'll tell ya. My words will probably just be a little funnier.

You would be surprised what I have seen done to people who only owe someone 40.00...

How about a bicycle or send one of the shorties from the nieghborhood to do some dirty work for ya
