I've got my 2008 Jeep SRT8 with normal tint, factory in the rear and nothing in the front. I'm looking to match the front with the back but can't figure out what percentage I need to get. I am in Virginia and law states the rear cannot exceed 35 and the front 50, but I've read that its darker in the back. I need help!

I'm using 20% and it's a close match IMO. Our legal limit here is 35% and I've never been hassled.

Probably what you're saying is NY allows 30% tint.

Legal?..... meh

I have 5% on the front two, 20% over factory on the back windows to match.... and 40% on the windshield. Same with Johnny and Jason (Maryland M3)... LOVE IT

Yeah, mine isn't exactly legal.

All my rear glass and sunroof is stock + 5% layer + 20% layer on top of that. Police have metered it at 0% light transmission.
And I have 20% on my front doors.

And some more....

If you want the front to match the back I would go with 15% to get a more accurate match. If your windshield is untinted, it will let in a lot of light and make a 20% on the front look darker than 20% on the back.

I had 15% on the front to match the back and it was a negligible difference. Had them on for a full year in NJ with no hassles...even when I got pulled over for other offenses. Be wary though that some jurisdictions are worse than others regarding tint enforcement.

So what I've gotten is pretty much go with 20% on the front windows. I don't want to get tickets out the ass, but I'll try it anyways. Is solar guard a good film?

Also, what is the best type of film to use that will match the factory? I am looking at formula one products, specifically the pinnacle, comfort and classic

I have 20% on the front windows and didnt mess with anything else.. But now I want it darker.

I have been in Relwarc`s Jeep. His tint setup is awesome!

I am going to use formula 1 ceramic 15% all the way around and 5% on the sun roof. I am stationed in PA but registered in TX. That's how I had my truck and it looked sick. With the factory tint already on the passenger windows and rear window it will be really dark. Can't wait.

Just just had 20 installed on the fronts a few days ago. Looks awesome. Perfect match IMO.

I was metered at 17% and ticketed, mid day, just cruising to a meeting,
So I had to go to court and prove its gone.
Went to 50%. on fronts. Lost my ballz and my luck :(

i went to California Tint in Tysons, the guy there matched it almost exact to the back windows, I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I think its close to 20. Havent had a ticket yet....fingers crossed
