Throttle Response

From a complete stop, the throttle response on the WK2 is great. But i have noticed at various times while moving it is not so great. It has a delay or hesitation that is hard to explain. It just does not seem as responsive as it should be at times. This is the first real performance vehicle I have owned, so i don't have much to compare it to. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal? Will mods and tuning fix it? Just want to know what others think...

My 2010 had the same issue. Custom tune fixed that right up. Just wait for tuning options for the WK2.

Mine does the same thing. I have a feeling it is the MDS kicking in and out.
I believe the MDS switches almost instantaneously. The throttle lag my just be the electronic throttle control. Like the WK1 when tuning is available the sensitivity can be adjusted to overcome the issue.

Good to know i'm not alone here. I don't think it will effect the track times, but from a roll it would be another story. Being a performance vehicle, I would have thought the factory tuning would be better so you would have instant access to the power accross most of the rpm range.
This is interesting, when I first test drove a stock WK1 for the first time, I found that it had the same exact issue IMO. To be honest, that is why I wasn't interested in a stock WK1, but I can bet you tuning will be able to solve this issue along with some light mods!
They have one listed for the 2011 Cherokees. I checked their website a few weeks ago. I think it'd work.

I have been calling SprintBooster every week since I got the 2012. They haven't tested it for this year yet. So no word yet. I had it on my 09 and it was a huge difference.
Tuning for sure. Do you drive in sport mode at all? It's much, much better with response in sport mode. Shifts are earlier and quicker.
i'm usually in auto or track mode. I have used sport mode a few times, shifting is better but throttle response seems about the same as other modes. I hope it will improve a bit when I install my CAI.
I have CAI and straight thru exhausts on mine plus new throttle body and it has made off the line worse and more boggy.
Sure hope a software tune will help as I can not get better then 6.5 in 0-60 and truck seems slower the more mods I do

2012 WK2/ TB, Exhausts, CAI

The straight through exhaust didn't help you...if anything its killing the performance most likely.
