Hi, I have around 40K KMS on my Jeep and the front brake has started crying. I am ordering my pads and rotors online but this will take sometime to arrive. I have to do a 400 K trip and was wondering if there is any temporary solution to keep the brakes from making such horrible noise.

Before my R1s and stoptech pads arrived I was in the same boat.

With the wheels on I was able to bend the warning tabs off the rotors with a pair of long needle nose pliers. You just have to be creative about which angle you take to get the tool in there.

If I didn't have brakes on order I wouldn't have done this, but since I knew 100% I would be doing a change in less than a week I went ahead and did it.

If you are forgetful or a very busy person, the warning tabs are a good reminder to make sure you take care of a very important problem!
