Tail Light Tinting Question

1986 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  DCSpecial
To anyone who has gotten their tail light/fog/brake light tinted. I brought my truck over to a shop today to get the windows and tails tinted. They are using a paint spray that gives it a glossy finish. I asked the chick if they could also tint the two lower fogs and the brake light. She said she didn't know if they could because it was in question as to whether or not the paint would adhere to the fog/brake light? How should that be any different than the tail lights? Anybody ever have this problem and how have you guys gone about doing this?

The lower rear fogs are no different then the actual taillights.....All 5 can be painted, Cleared, buffed!
Ok cool! I'll definitely let them know that and tell them to just go ahead and do it
Whats the charge?

They're charging me $175 to tint the whole truck excluding the windshield and $75 to tint the tail lights...not too bad i think
To get those rear fogs out is a b!tch
Yeah they don't look like something you would enjoy messing around with, but if they tinted them wouldn't they just tape them off with painters tape and apply the spray that way instead of actually taking them out and doing them individually?

I would think for the best results and cleanest finish...removing them would be the best thing to do!

]well got my truck back yesterday wow. I am extremely pleased with how the tints came out. I got a medium smoke because I didn't want them completely black and hard to see. They look much darker in person than in pictures. Enjoy....
