STOCK vs. CORSA vs. GTHaus Exhausts (WK2 SRT)

I have been wanting to give an honest comparison/review of each exhaust and compare side by side for 2014 Jeep SRT.

Stock Exhaust:

Stock exhaust is just that. Subtle rumble that sounds decent when you get on it, but like most people felt the need for more so I swapped it out for CORSA.

CORSA Exhaust:

I have had corsa exhaust on my 2012 Ford Raptor, 2010 Silverado and 2007 Avalanche and unfortunately my 2014 Jeep SRT. Getting Corsa for any WK2 Jeep is the BIGGEST mistake you can make. The start up rumble is nice but other than that it sucks!! Set the cruise between 33-48 miles an hour and when the MDS kicks in you will be so sick you will NEED the exhaust to be removed asap! The drone at these speeds is awful!! I mean awful! I had it on for 4 months and it was so bad! On top of the drone, the raspy sound when you step on it is enough to make your car sound like a cheap civic with a NAPA crap muffler installed. I can't tell you how many other SRT owners in Chicago would roll up and tell me the exhaust sounded like shit!! Just an awful exhaust for this car all around! I honestly did not find anything positive about except for the start up. Thats it!

GTHaus Exhaust:

WOW! Just a crazy deep deep exhaust. I have had it installed for 4 days and WOW! Just an incredible exhaust! I like a deep roar but this thing is so dam loud when you step on it. I can't even/won't ride with the valve open because it's so loud it really pisses people off! Incredible sound but a little to loud for my liking. Here comes a real big negative:

THIS EXHAUST WILL SLOW YOUR CAR DOWN TREMENDOUSLY! I HAVENT COMPARED ANY NUMBERS BUT MAN I FEEL LIKE THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE BECAUSE OF THIS EXHAUST. IT'S SLOWER WITH THE VALVE OPEN BUT MAN THIS EXHAUST REALLY REALLY SLOWS THE CAR DOWN. IF I COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN I WOULD SAVE ALL THE MONEY AND KEEP THE CAR STOCK. I REALLY LOVE SWAPPING OUT EXHAUST BUT CHRYSLER PRODUCTS ARE NOT CARS TO MESS WITH.

FINAL WORD:

All in all I have had a bad experience with swapping out exhausts. I would keep the car bone stock if I could do it all over again. Corsa is absolutely junk! Please listen to me. DO NOT buy that crappy system! If you want just an incredible system than by GTHaus. Rediculously deep and LOUD exhaust. 5X louder than that of corsa! It's so loud my fiancé wants me to sell the car. All in all I can't stand how big of a slug the car is so I prob will sell. Please comment if you have any questions. I will do my best and try to respond to them.

Hope this helps some of you guys out!

^^^ wow! 27hp with just an afe cold air intake alone!! That's cool (haha) and impressive) I didn't think you would see that!! I'm changing my thinking about those then....the 21hp on the headers sounds right and is a call everyone has to make for themselves...think it boils down to the sound, if you size your primaries properly with an x or h pipe and tune the extra ponies are a bonus and all add up. You = happy wallet = not so much lol
I'm with you.

For what it's worth, Sean, (Hemifever) tuned my '14 RAM. It was completely stock except for his tune and boy did it ever wake up the truck. I don't know how accurate the T1000 is in measuring the 1/4 but it said the truck would do 14.48. I had it going 135mph in 6th gear (8 speed) and it was still going but I ran out of road. I think if you're not worried about sound then try tuning first with your stock parts. But, I'm only posting this just to say Hemifever was good and Sean's service was good.

Thanks Passmg2 I will touch base with Sean to see if I can get the tune right.
Problem with exhaust opinions is they're like arseholes....everyones got one. If Corsa sounds like a racecar then for me that means load and obnoxious...OK for a race car but not my 85k daily driven jeep. I wanted more an Austin Martin sound, clean deep, refined and just plain sweeeeeet. I have had many favourable comments regarding how mine sounds its no DB9 but its close. I also have the joy of when I stick the accelerator to the firewall I don't have every person within 3 miles stare at me including the law :) BUT as I said as well each to their own what I like ain't what everyone likes visa versa but of what Ive read on here a decent $3000 exhaust and sports air intake are pretty much the best guarantees to get rolled by a stock car...
Your Jeep was 85k??:surprise:

Australia bro. That conversion rate doesn't do any favors for third world countries.

sucks to hear. nice car regardless and probably more rare down there.
FWIW I have no drone. It's a little loud for me (I'm 55) but it sounds awesome. I had Scott's Hot Rod muffler shop in Toronto put in a couple of fibreglass packed resonators. They are pros and did an awesome job. These resonators will not help drone if you have it but they do lower the volume a decibel or two. I can't stand drone. I'm not one for the European sports car sound. I preder old school big cubic inch rumble and roar with a little snap, crackle & pop for the flakes.

:surprise: careful, some bloke from that First World country, not Third, might want to "introduce" you to their version of a Third World in The Outback...:wink2:
They are pretty much same price in Canada.

This is the absolute biggest load of drivel I have ever read on this forum. Ridiculous. I just installed a new Corsa catback on my 17 WK2 and it is fabulous. I've had Corsa on my past cars of a 06 Charger SRT8 and my Caliber SRT4. They all sounded great. If up in Canada, order from Partsengine.com....NOT tdotperformance. Partsengine actually has a warehouse (TDOT does not) and they allowed me to pick it up directly there and offered me a better discount than the other company was offering on their site. Fantastic service! I've had it on the highway a few times and it doesn't drone at all and there is no issue with MDS when it kicks in. Pretty much the same as stock. Love it at WOT. It is not a loud system and truth be told, I did not want a loud system at all. I wanted something with more oomph and at the same time, I can take a long trip without being fatigued from all the racket. I definitely gained some power over stock with this setup. Needless to say, really happy with it and the fit was spot on!

Corsa doesn't drone but it has a IMO loud Woo on partial acceleration that's about 10 db louder than stock.

The factory Woo is about as much as I can want to live with in a luxury vehicle.

The Corsa exhaust on my C5 Vette has no Woo as well as no Drone 0:)

After putting in the whole exhaust and finding it too loud overall

I tried just the Corsa tailpipes on

the Jeep and it was better at 5db more Woo but still too much.

I put Stainless Works catted headers in mated to the stock exhaust

and along with my open element afe filter it sounds great WOT and

doesn't make crude loud noise :frown2: while regular driving 0:)

Chromed my Dumbos

Thanks

I'm almost 60

Too old for loud exhaust

Sad :laugh::laugh:

The loud Woo on partial acceleration :frown2: is the price you pay for a superlative WOT :armed: :rocket:

I have cutouts on my Vette

I sandblasted and baked ceramic coated the headers and cat pipes myself with Tech Line Coatings

I had a shop put in the headers and cat pipes

Corsa FTW. Had mine installed in April and wasn't quite as impressed as my '06 WK1. Took about 6/7 months for it to finally settle in. The tone now is almost identical. Start up always turns heads, drone is minimal, and it screams at WOT. Oh, and it passes the tunnel test with ease.
Hey there im so late haha ! When people say corsa here its regarding the sport ? And not extreme ?
I know I'm brining this thread back from the dead but why not since I'm providing a current perspective on this topic.

So I just installed the Corsa Extreme sound level system on my 2021 JGC SRT and IMO it's too quiet and raspy for a truck. I don’t know how their systems were back when the OP put this up but there is ZERO and I mean absolutely ZERO drone in my cabin at cruise. As a matter of fact the exhaust is so quiet when NOT under heavy acceleration that it doesn't sound like there is an aftermarket exhaust installed. At cruise under moderate acceleration there is still no drone but you can hear the exhaust but ever so slightly. That part of the exhaust system I love, who wants constant drone in the cabin of a $70k vehicle?

Now for my opinion on the sound. If you like a mild mannered exhaust then this is the perfect exhaust for you. You litterally have to mash the gas pedal to get this thing to roar. Even then the roar is a bit raspy for my taste? It lacks that deep growl that a truck exhaust should have. The start up, both cold and warm, sounds very nice but outside of that, the exhaust is lacking for my taste. I've had it installed exactly one week now and I'm considering swapping it out for a GT Haus.

Overall if you want an exhaust that will only turn heads on start up and under heavy acceleration then this is it. Given that this was the extreme sound level and not the sport sound level, I guess I was expecting it to be a step below seriously loud.

Kooks 3" exhaust & headers. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Been on my 15 JGC SRT since the beginning and still like new. No hassles.

I can't do headers yet. I just got the truck and it only has 6000 miles on it. I got it at 5000 miles. It's still under factory warranty and I bought an extended. Can't risk buying a used performance vehicle with no warranty. Just my opinion. Even though it only had 5000 miles on it, the previous owner could have been beating the hell out of it for 5000 miles. Soon as I tune the engine the warranty is out the window.

All that being said, as soon as it goes out of warranty, I'm putting a super charger in it. At that point I can go crazy with the real performance mods. Right now I'm going to stick to the simple stuff.
