sorry to beat the Viper wheel thing to death??

Hey folks.

So, have read all the Viper wheel on the SRT8 Grand posts that I could find....

Question I have for those who have tried this:

Do you know if the Viper rear wheel would bolt up to the front and clear the frame, upright, spring etc?

Don't care about the body, fender clearance etc as I will not have them on this project...

Just need to know if a Viper rear will clear the above bits??

PS: What I want is Viper rears all the way around, if I can make them work on my SRT8 Dart Swinger idea

There was a guy who put them on his Jeep. I believe he had to use a spacer up front to clear the brakes, and he had to drill the lug holes to get them to fit......neither of which is a great idea.

Hey.

Saw that thread, but thought that he used Viper fronts on the front of the SRT8 with spacers etc??

The rear Vipers have different offset I think, thats why I was wondering if Viper rears on the front of the SRT8 would clear the brakes etc??

I think he used 4 fronts. The rear viper rims are too wide to fit on the front of the Jeep. They would need a spacer to clear the brakes, and then you wouldn't be able to turn.....they would stick out of the wheel wells.

BTW, those were replica wheels he used, that were made for the LX platform cars.....not real Viper wheels.

um, ok...

I'm not using the SRT body, so if the Viper rear Wheels will clear the suspension. frame and brakes, they may work for my project...

We have a jeep SRT8 with these wheels on it at our work and we had to use 1.5" wheel spacers front and rear and even then they are still close, the backspacing is all wrong for the SRTs. even the SRT8 repros sit closer to the caliper than the OEM wheels, i will probably get a bunch of grief for saying this but the reproduction wheels are actually designed to fit the Wrangler 07-12, i have it on good authority that some 18" versions are coming out, WINTER WHEELS here i come

Good news, looks like we have been answered! i'm about to order some 22" gloss blacks...they are made for the srt8 so no spacers needed. I spoke to the owner, he said chrome set is $1,100.

good luck.... there is only one company in China that makes these things and i know who they are... we are looking at getting the standard SRT wheel make in an 18" for many apps, these wheels are marketed to fit the SRT8 but do not clear.... i promise

i bought them from a different company and you are wasting your money they dont fit. they dont clear the brakes or even come close. as stated you need huge spacers

Interesting, did they have a stated 35/50mm backspacing? I found a few online, but none that stated they had the correct backspacing except for these. I may go a different route if thats the case.

When I was going the Viper wheel route I was informed it would take a 1 3/8-1.5 spacer for the front wheel and none for the back. Called a shop in Philly who did an srt8 jeep. Talked to a guy on the phone who was getting that set put on his jeep who confirmed this.

Factory Reproductions makes them in 3 colors in either 20" or 22" - backspacing is 35 and 50. The machined ones are DOPE!

Their replication Jeep SRT wheels have a different offset for their 22"s of 30 and 45...while 20"s have 35 and 50.

Thanks for sharing this. I was disappointed when I contacted Factory Repros and they told me the Viper reps would not clear the brakes, but now I know all I need is a spacer for the fronts!

What is the name of the shope you talked to? Im fine with running spacers uP front to make this work. Did he say where he bought the rims from?

dude the wheels stick out so much its hideous plus the tires fling everything right up on the jeep
