I am so close to purchasing a 2008 SRT8 with only 18,000 miles! I was just curious as to how much money you guys spend a week/month on gas?

Man I wish !!

Im usually around 2 tanks a week and it usually costs between 90-100 to fill up depending on pump prices. So if my mathimatical calculations are correct I sit around $200/week orrr $10,400 / year

I have averaged 13.3 MPG for over three years with mixed city and highway driving. Commute is 40 miles round trip so 200 a week consumes 15 gallons. At $4 for 93 that's $60 not counting weekends. With 62k miles on the odo I have consumed about 4,769 gallons of gas. Not all at $4 but if it were that is $19,000 since 10/31/08, or around than $6,350 a year, or $530 a month, etc. you get it. I drive like it is stolen unless traffic is in the way--which, sadly, is often here in Chitown.

I drive about 6 miles one way and it's not a primary concern. I know these vehicles are gas guzzlers, I was just curious as to as to how much people are spending because I like to see ballpark numbers for when I budget.

I drive 6 miles city stop and go traffic each way to work and back home 5 days a week. I also let my jeep fully warm up (about 8-10 minutes, thank you remote start) before leaving work for the day due to it being below freezing where I live. Have a heated garage for the morning leave. I fill my tank up about every other week when it gets down to around a 1/4 tank.

With your type commute if all you do is go back and forth to work, out for lunch, running around town at night, etc. then don't be surprised to see 12mpg or so. I know because I have a similar commute for the weeks when I'm in the office. I was actually only seeing 11.8mpg recently in that type driving. However, as soon as I hit the highway I'll see 17mpg all day long. I was getting 18mpg on a recent long trip. I have a CAI and stock tune.

This is absolutely the most sensitive vehicle I've ever owned in terms of gas millage and how you drive it. Also, you're better off hammering it at least once a day because if you drive too much like a grandpa gas mileage actually goes down. It does not like to be babied.

Do you have a long commute? I try to keep my foot out of it as much as possible. I know that's no fun, but I save the fun play for later, makes it that much more fun since I don't do it often :)

OP, if on 'E' and the gas light on, and depending on pump prices, it's between $60-$70 a tank.

Not for nothing, but if gas consumption is the issue then this may not be the vehicle for you. Not trying to be rude, just being honest.

My commute itself is around 25 round trip .. its the after hour miles that kill me ;) Id estimate around 100/ day give or take.
I also have an extremely heavy foot

I would have to agree, as when i bought the SRT for my DD, fuel consumption wasn't even a consideration. If it was I would have gone with the diesel !

Since Jan 11th when I got the SRT I put $50 worth of gas in it. Its almost on E now. I mostly use our Liberty to commute though.
