Hi, my fuel pump went bad months ago and my local dealership said the only compatible pump is 68154305AA based on the VIN number. This pump is very expensive both locally and online at around $860 and $650, respectively.
I then decided to dig deeper, and found out that for the 2018 model, this fuel pump 68535771AA is stated to be compatible with the 3.6L, 5.7L, and 6.4L engines. When I say stated I mean both online and at the dealership. This pump only costs around $120. Needles to say, I convinced them to install it on my 2015 SRT.

I want to add that the expensive pump 68154305AA is listed to be compatible only with 6.4L engines from 2012-2021.
But the cheap one 68535771AA compatibility is all over the place, some years it's only compatible with the 3.6L and 5.7L engines. And some years with 6.4L as well, both for the Durango and GC.

I'm wondering if I made a mistake. I'm not getting any lean conditions with this pump, and the car runs fine, but it's difficult to say whether the cheap pump is costing me some ponies in the upper rpms. I tried to monitor fuel pressure, but our fuel rails don't have a schrader valves, and OBD2 scanners don't get a fuel pressure signal.

I noticed that aftermarket fuel pumps such as e7273m list compatibility with both 5.7 and 6.4L engines.

Please share your thoughts and experiences with fuel pumps.
