Pano vs. Rear DVD

So been looking for a 2012 SRT8 for a while and finally found one at a price I am okay with. One problem is it has rear DVD and no Pano, and Pano is something I really liked the idea of. Question for guys that have rear DVD and not Pano, how do you like it? If you had it to do over would you choose Pano?

Really at a loss right now as to what to do!

If i was to buy a 2012 id get the Pano! I hate the rear dvd in the wk1, damn blind spot. if you want rear dvd get them put in the head rest!!!

Newfie.
a real muscle car or suv shouldn't even have a sun roof, they add a lot of weight, i wish i didn't have one, i don't even use it
If I were buying another one, I'd go pano. Love the natural light in the vehicle.

What's a "sub?"......you mean the one that goes underwater or the one you eat? :)

Seriously, how can a sunroof add a lot of weight?.......you're already losing a good part of the roof! (and glass isn't much heavier than steel).

I was wondering the same thing, how much weight are we actually talking about?
easily 50-75lbs maybe more, you got to figure, the glass, seals, the whole motor assembly with tracks, switches and wiring, and the problem is that weight is all up top instead of down low

w/o sunroof you just have nice thin sheet metal and a complete headliner...
The only detrimental thing about a sunroof is you lose a little headroom.

(on the plus side, it does add a little bit to the resale value to the car).
Looks like 90% of cars in registry thread have Pano. Pretty popular option.

50-75 lbs?!....I find hard that to believe.

Whatever the case may be, a sunroof is totally unnecessary in a pure sports car where performance is paramount.

In a 2+ ton SUV like the Jeep which already comes loaded with creature-comforts, whether or not you have a sunroof is not going to make any difference performance-wise.

you got to figure most ppl take the rear sub out to race right? that thing is deff lighter than the whole sunroof option
i would say the pano roof is going to weight you down a 100lbs. well worth the cool factor to me
i have a cailber srt4 and i think that was 50lbs

pretty sure the SRT8 was made for performance, therefore IMO it shouldn't have one,.... every little bit of weight adds up...

i looked and looked for one without a sunroof, found a 09 in inferno red (actually the color i wanted (one of the 23 made in 09)) only issue was it didn't have the other options nav, kicker or option group 2
The rear DVD is only good if you regularly carry kids on board, otherwise it's a waste and can attract thieves.

That may be true for the WK1......but the WK2 is a whole different beast. Sorry to bust your bubble, but performance isn't the whole story with the WK2. One test-drive will make you realize for sure.

If you're so worried about weight, take out the full-size spare in the trunk.....bingo, instant weight loss!
The pano roof is sweeeeet. Even if u have young kids, the movies in the car will be a short phase and then you'll be stuck with the DVD. Go for the Pano!
I have no pano or sunroof, best choice i could have made. Last I checked the WK2 was still a performance vehicle, and i'm looking forward to some good times at the track this spring!:D
I've had a sunroof in the last 6 vehicles I have owned and never even cracked them. If I had ordered mine, it would be sans pano BUT, the one I got had the pano and I have yet to close it. I LOVE it and would be on my options list if I were ordering one now.

\2011 and 2012 Jeeps have active head restraints. You can't replace them. I tried on my wifes 2011 Larado. If you want Rear DVD you'll need to get the kind that hangs on the rest.
Yeah I really want the Pano roof. Although I could live with just the sunroof I think it would bother me from time to time knowing I really wanted it with Pano. Was just pretty excited about the price on this particular vehicle wish it had Pano.....
