Had my ride almost slow to a stop at 3000 RPM today service 4 wheel came on earlier but went away? Has anyone got an idea what happened?

When your computer thinks something is about to go horribly wrong in your ride it shuts everything down. And it will only allow you to drive the Jeep at like 10 mph. Kind of how you described. But if your problem cleared it might have gone away. I'm sure someone will explain limp mode better than I did.
