Needing some imput before purchasing a jeep.

I am planning on buying a Jeep in the next couple of days hopefully but have one question. It is an 06 w/ 86,000 miles. Is that considered much for this vehicle? Ive never owned a Jeep and am wondering what the life usually is on one and what to expect. Thanks in advanced. Cant wait to own it!

Thats what I was thinking to. I just want to be sure i make the right choice. Ill look at the cars right now, thanks alot.
Whats your price range? If your looking low 20k, then thats whats going to be available realistically, these jeeps hold their values very well. However, there are several members well over 100k and some approaching 200k with minimal problems.

I would like to stick to 23k max. I have found a couple in that range with decent miles even in the high 50xxx. that to me seems great but they are all hundreds of miles away. I might need to make a road trip out of this lol.I also have heard these cars run long if up kept, I know I would just hoping the previous owner took care for those 80,000+ miles. I will keep looking!
If possible buy a truck from the forum, the people who frequent car forums tend to keep up with the maintenance on their rides and you can get a good history, good deal on them, and have input from members who know them. That's way better than buying a car blindly, bear in mind, that an inspection by an independent mechanic, is always advised!

+3. I looked for 6 months before finding mine. I flew to Austin, Tx from Kansas City, Mo and drove her home. Don't be afraid to travel for a good deal. Also be willing to walk away if somethings not right. Good luck!

I bought my WK1 2200 miles from home and my WK2 1450 miles from home. Driving them home is the best part :)

As long as it was maintained well, it'll last. My WK1 was running perfect with 70k miles when I sold it.

I found one actually an amazing deal...not sure what to think of it. The owner wants 20,000 for it; an 07 with 62k on it. He said he wants to sell it because of a divorce. Maybe to good to be true? Ive been in contact with him for a couple days now and he wants to use yahoo finance, what is everyone's input on this? He is willing to ship it out to me for one week once yahoo has my money and they cannot pay out until I am satisfied with it.

Sounds like some scams I've read about in the past. Be careful with it.

Yeah that sounds fishy to me to. I wont buy UNLESS I can see and drive the car first.
Yeah, I'd say a definite NO on this. Do some research.

Definitely a scam. My brother & I got that exact same story and us wanting to pay yahoo first. We were looking at a 2010 Lexus IS-F with 40,000 miles for $30k. Figured out that is was a scam when the guy refused for us to pay in person and drive the car home (it was 400 miles away). He also tried to convince us further to use "yahoo finance" and sent us the link to where to do it. The webpage ended up looking like this:

It's fake. Especially when they offer to ship, who the hell would bother making a shipping arrangement for a car in the middle of a divorce?!?

You all have great points, I had a gut feeling that's what it was, I guess the search continues. I rather wait and spend more than get a frame shipped here!! Its hard waiting on a car like this haha cant wait! thanks to all for all your input i really appreciate it.

Be patient my friend. You will find what you want. Look in the classifieds here worked out well for me.
