Does anyone remember what the miles/Kms were upon delivery of their 2012? Spoke to my dealer and he informed me that the dealership will put at least 20 kms on it for testing. Does this sound correct ? I thought all the testing was completed at the plant totalling around 6 kms and if the vehicle checks out it is good to go.

I'd say 20 km's was reasonable as part of the PDI. That's only 12 miles.

The WK2 I saw at the dealer a couple weeks ago had 11 miles on it, but that would have been after the buyer took it for a test drive of unknown distance. My '08 had 2 on it & I saw other WK1's with anywhere from 2 -20 miles.

Thanks. Just found it a bit odd is all although I cant remember the exact numbers of other new vehicles I have purchased. Thought they were under 10. Paranoid I guess. lol

Mine had 8 miles on it when I drove it off the lot.

Average for the wk1's i delivered was 5-10 miles on them. You would rarely see one come from the factory with more than that.

if you are too paranoid, ask if you can be the passenger for the testing

I don't see what they need to test really. Plus if it needed testing I would be the person doing the testing. Every inch driven by the dealer is one too many imo.

I havent heard of a dealer adding 20 kms for a PDI and wanted to know what you guys thought about it. Im gonna call another Jeep dealership and ask what their practice is.

Probably filled it up at a service station 5 kms away. I don't know, seems reasonable to me.

I told my sales guy "nobody drives this." He said the tech has to set it up and go for a quick ride and make sure it functions correct and they also had to fill it up with gas. He offered me to go fill it up, but said the tech had to drive. He put a big sign on the dash saying "do not drive."
