I know cam topics have been discussed many times but I would like get as much info as possible to make an educated decision.

Please help me decide which cam to go with. I've been reading a lot about cam upgrades lately it's making me dizzy. I will do valve springs and rods no matter what. I would like it to be stock sounding (well I don't want it too choppy) for it is my daily driver.

My question is which cam to get, the Lil Boy 214/218 114, Lil Boy 214/218 114+4 or PPP stage 2?
Which one will gain the most usable(street) power with and without headers?

I am not getting headers but you never know. I know most of you will tell me to get it since the heads are coming off anyways but I know someone who's got the valve spring removal tool :D plus I can't afford headers right now (my baby girl is the priority).

Thanks guys.

Littleboy hands down based on your mods. My jeep runs 12.4 with cam, intake, muffler delete and tcm and it is capable of going faster if i could get traction

It's hard to really tell , when Harrison had headers CAM only he ran similar numbers as the Lilboy guys are running . To really take advantage of the PPP stage 2 I think you would need a stall where with the Lilboy won't , also springs are recommended with the PPP Stage 2 if I stand correct , and its also a bad a$$ sounded cam . If I had to do it all over again I would still go Lilboy route 100% . Still both bad A$$ choice imo .

Yes I was running the same times as the Littleboy guys....... down here in Florida. What happened when I came up there to Atco? I went [email protected] vs. 12.2's down here when Paulo went 12.1 or 12.2 that weekend. The PPP Stage 2 cam is a larger cam. It a 218/224 cam vs. a 214/218 cam. It has more potential to make more power. Yes springs are recommended, but like you said, you already plan on doing those. Yes a converter helps as it would with any decent size cam. If you plan on minimum mods, i.e. stock converter, then stick with the Littleboy. Only other cam only to get into the 11's has been a SRT Max. Cobrakid went 11.93, 11.94, 11.95 all at 112.

So it all really depends on what you're trying to. Don't get me wrong, the Littleboy is a great cam. You'd love it, but, IMHO, the PPP Stage 2 has more potential to run faster due to it being a larger cam.

Did Harrison have a converter when he was running the same times as the Little-Boy?
Yes and no. I went 12.29 on Passtime with my first dead hook at a perfect track in +1300DA first time out with the converter. Previous best was 12.39 without converter in Fla. DA.

Not to start nothing but I think with my present tuning knowledge , my truck will get and 11.8-11.9 times 110% , I went 12.1 on 93 pump gas and 22* timing tune with a 11.6-11.8 AFR . I might be running NA for beginning of the season so don't count on holding that stock heads record for too long :)

Personally if i did it again i would of just got the 114 if i was just doing cam, intake, exhaust. But you lose low end torque when you do LTs and ported intake so that why i went 114+4

Thanks..... it knew it was one of those. I search my texts from him and didn't see him telling me what it was. Is it a Spartan or Spartan Max cam?

ON EDIT...... Chuck is running a Spartan cam not the Max. So it's a 214/218 as well. Interesting......

Only way not to lose any low end with LT headers is to go with 1.750" like Patrick G did....

Yeah both cams IMO are proven cams..... So you will make power with either of them... A while back O was going to install this PPP stage 2 cam ever since I heard Harrisons Jeep on a video, but decided on the Little boy as I did not need to upgrade the Springs on my heads....
