I'm now leaning towards getting a 2012 in a few weeks

I really can't keep waiting for all the potential improvements (8/9 Speed, misc), so I'm leaning towards getting one. There is a store a few hours away that is willing to discount $2,800 off the MSRP, so I'm thinking of just getting the smaller sunroof & the TV ($65,000~).

A few questions, what are 3 season tires & the benefit of them?? Anyone else get the TV & or Sunroof / pluses minuses of them??

I look forward to being part of the family soon, long overdue.

Congrats!

Good decision....like you said, you can't wait forever.....life is too short...you have to enjoy it while you can. There will always be something better around the corner....but at some point you have to dive in and start enjoying it.

If you have kids, the TV option will be fun (I don't have it myself).

If you live in the snow belt, make sure you get all-season tires.

Thanks for the support, I'm looking forward to enjoying myself.
Dont eat cheesy's before you enjoy yourself.
Not only the snow belt, but if you live anywhere temperatures dip below freezing. Those 3 season tires are awesome in warm weather but turn to ice skates in cold weather and are almost useless in the snow.

Good luck with your decision.

I live in SW FL, snow is a TV novelty.
Don't wait, do it. I predict the only regret you'll have is not making it happen sooner.

If I lived in south Florida, I would go with the three season tires. They should have more grip, but will probably wear out faster.

The one I have targeted has it, $895 option as well. I had a E55 that screamed with PS2's on it versus the standard tire, man those things gripped.
I agree, don't wait and pick one up now!
Picked mine up Wednesday, Lux Grp II, Pano Roof and High Perf Audio, paid 61. I had a 2009 and this is a far better vehicle all around, as someone said, Life's to short. It came with all season Pirelli's and a spare.
Out of curiosity, has anyone run the math to see what the weight difference is in the pano roof vs regular sunroof + rear dvd?

Sounds really nice, what color did you get?

Yeah, and vs no sunroof at all, i'm curious as well.

I think the difference is pretty small. The pano roof is essentially 2 regular size sunroofs put together. The rear DVD is about 4-5 pounds I'd imagine. So I would think the pano roof is going to be a little heavier than a regular sunroof + DVD.

In terms of performance, I don't think it would make any difference at all.
Kim, every gram/ounce counts in performance!
Losing 50lbs off your gut shaves about .1 off your 1/4 time... that might not seem like a lot, but, its a car length at the traps.

Good to know! That definitely means the WK2 is a 12.9 sec vehicle.
I think it's closer to 100lbs/.1 second improvement. I was also under the impression that 1 second equates to roughly 7 car lengths. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I remember trying to get my fat 4wd Safari to break into the 13 second mark. I was hovering at 14.8 seconds. Removed my steel-rimmed spare wearing 31" AT's and the back seat, totaling about 100lbs. Nailed a 13.90. Petey was happy....

Oh, and I was surprised to read that the pano roof was the 2nd of two options for a sunroof. I simply assumed that there was only the pano roof as a sunroof option. My GC is completely optioned out except for the rear dvd. It was ordered last week and should have retailed for $64,400CAN plus taxes. Got it at $62,500 thru my vehicle broker (he finds me our service vans for my HVAC outfit. 3 month wait which is good, means I'll get it only after the snow & slush has melted up here.
You guys are at the same prices as us in the states, wow.
