Ok hope some one can identify this one
When I leave work I reverse maybe 50 feet out onto the road, as I got maybe 40 feet there was a loud bang under the rear of the car.
Stopped got out thinking I had hit something in the dark.
Nothing
Reverse the rest of the way stopped got out to close the gate to our car park.
Drove a short distance and turned left, drove 1/4 mile then turned left again, 100 feet or so and bang bang bang same noise going forward this time.
Sounded just like someone hitting the flloorpan of the car with a hammer.
Stopped, dark and throwing down with rain, looked underneath using he torch on my phone, nothing obvious.
I was heading out for a drink but turned around slowly t limp the car back to work.
No noise, drove past work and headed home, 3 miles no noise, drove past home and set of to meet some friends for a drink, 20 miles no noise.
Tried accelerating, hard braking, round a roundabout 3 times, up to 150mph, no noise
I hate mysteries, any one any ideas?
