Yes, I am desperate... can you tell? LOL

So here is my situation. I have a SHR tranny and when in full auto (not autostick), the car shifts up thru the gears nicely. It actually works well. BUT... when it downshifts as I slow down, it clunks into gear as it shifts hard.

When I auto stick, it shifts down firm BUT does not clunk....

Does anyone have an idea what may cause this???

Thanks

Umm I'm not sure if it's the exact same problem everyone talks about but I think that's supposed to happen with the SHR Transmission...

I think there's been a few people that have fixed it or improved it by putting on Blue top solenoids. Not sure though... But If you do a search you'll notice a lot of people mention this issue.

That is normal on a SHR tranny and the reason why it does it is cuz of those damn Blue tops as to why I got rid of mine. I had them on my jeep with a stock tranny and installed those Blue tops in the stock Valvebody. Did you just install this tranny? Remove the Bluetops and buy a Stage 2 valvebody from Bill and done...

Good luck man!

Ahhhhhh I see! Ive been so busy building a new home that I haven't had a chance to deal with this. So are you telling me it's the blue tops this thing comes with? Dammnit.

Does anyone have Bill's contact info? I'd like to buy a stage 2 valve body from him. How does his valve body differ from the blue tops?

Thanks

Yeah its those blue tops as SHR uses a brand new stock valvebody and then installs the Blue tops.on it. The reason you don't feel.it in autostick mode.is because you kept it in a certain gear and did not down shift it yourself.... I have drive a jeep.with a builder bill tranny and the shifts are like the click of a button when up shifting and the downshifts feel normal to me and .no.harsh downshifts .into.the windshield... Yeah, my Stage II valve body only gives you balls out pressure WHEN YOU NEED IT.
Normal driving is normal.

Why don't you contact the maker of the trans and ask him?
