I suggest you all do this

My jeep is my daily, and today just happens to be the nicest day of the year here in AL, 78 and breezy. So at lunch I put the windows down and sunroof back. On the way back to work sitting at the light waiting to turn onto the industrial street my office building is on, shift into auto stick, turn the traction control off, ease through the intersection at about 5 mph and once I hit the straight just mash the gas up to about 70.

Getting thrown back in the seat made me fall in love all over again :p So for all the rest of you who mostly leave it in "D" and putt back and forth to work like you are trying to break the gas mileage world record, I would highly recommend this. Had to share, sorry if it's not thread worthy :)

I never let the tranny shift itself. Even being johan'd it pisses me off too much.

I know, I missed your point, right ?

Must be nice. It's still 88* here. Sucks. Can't wait for some cool weather. Hell, it was 84* last night at 8pm.

As for driving in D........ Boring!! That's like taking half a Viagra! What's the point.

haha it feels so clunky in D. Like the trans is slipping or something, put it into auto stick and it's a whole new monster, gonna start driving it like that more.

Hmmmm.... yesterday at 5pm the DA was +2500 at Gainesville. Drag times for Irwindale said something different yesterday.

yeah I don't think I ever leave the house and not autostick it a few times ... my ride to work is a quick boring freeway trip, but often I leave a bit early just to take surface streets and have some fun :)

Dude, I was shocked. I knew the cold front came early today and it was cold, but then I was thinking after class how nice the track would be...

Too bad I've had a few drinks already or I would've gone. Let's hope the event in Oct. is nice like this!!! Bring your winter gear though

Yeah no doubt. I was just playing around on the DA Calc. At NED right now it's -750DA and here at my track it's +1850DA. That ait needs to blow it's way down here something fierce!! I'm waitin' for that air!

Its night and day, mostly because Im pretty sure my adaptives have decided that I am an 87 year old woman, and fairly confident that it never even shifts down to 1st gear in D, feels so sluggish. So that 1st gear run was amazing.

I get why you posted this. When you use the Jeep as a daily driver, its easy to forget the feeling you got when you first sat in the beast and hammered the petal to the floor. I remember when i first got it, i was grinning ear to ear for week, but once you get into the daily grind of primarily driving back and forth to work, you somehow forget the thrill of power and start concerning yourself with..."how did my gas milage get so high this week!" But it usually only takes some silly ricer/cheesy camaro and 4.4 seconds to bring it all back ;) Damn i still love my Jeep!
