Hello, I have a 2006 Jeep srt8 , 6.1L Hemi that failed emission test here in the state of Colorado
I did a complete tune up all spark plugs ngk's,air filter, oil change, thermostat, changed the water pump, and did a coolant flush, all new O2 sensors and its still not passing, the issue is NOx level is too high the limit is 1.5000 and the first test came out at 1.9434 and 1 month later after the tune up it was 2.1933 all the other readings were fine, just the NOx is too high any ideas how to lower this reading with NOx? The jeep has 224,615 miles on it and still running stong btw

Try removing the injectors and have them cleaned/ flow tested. You can also try using fuel injector cleaner.

Use the highest-octane fuel you can get. 91 FTW

Check the ignition timing! make sure the timing is within spec.

Before you get tested make sure to drive around at least 30 min and while you wait for the smog test keep the engine running! Use a OBD2 scanner to make sure no codes are present and that all monitors say OK. when it's time to smog the cat will be nice and HOT and have better chance at passing.

Good Luck!
