I am so pissed off. I made an earlier post about my dealer trying to sell me a red srt8 since the black one I ordered still haven't came in. Well I decided to go down to the dealer on monday to take a look at the red one and to find out whats going on with the black one I ordered. Basically they were trying to sell me the red one and give me the typical BS about not knowing anything about the price protection and how these were selling over listing price. They mentioned that they just sold one for $5000 over. After persistently telling them I'm not interested and that I would wait for the black one, it turns out that the one they sold for $5000 over listing WAS MY CAR!!!!!! They claim that they called me and left a message and waited a week before selling my car to someone else. I never received any call from them and infact I've been tracking the production of my srt from the online tracking system. Ever since the tracking system shows that the jeep was being delivered to the dealer, I've been calling the dealer for 4 straight weeks, 4 times a weeks, and 2 times a day. Every time I called, they say someone will get back to me which they never do. I drive by the dealer a couple of times but never see any srt8s and figured they haven't received the delivery yet until early last week. Thats when a different salesperson finally calls me and tells me about the red one. While at the dealer I was yelling out of frustration. Decided to speak with a manager which was no help either. They refused to do anything about the price for the red one even though I pre-ordered 7 months ago, refused to acknowledge the price protection, and totally disregard the fact that I've been calling them constantly. I could have easily bought something else last year while the value of my trade was higher but they didn't care. They even had the nerves to tell me that they can try to trade the red one for a black one from another dealer but to do that, they have to drive the car there and but miles on it. What makes them think I would want to do business with them if I can just go to another dealer to purchase the car from there. After an hour, I decided to just leave and ask for my deposit back. Decided to search the inventory of other dealers and actually found one that was everything I wanted. Plus it was on the lot. Drove 30 minutes to that dealer and told them my situation. They were not able to do anything about the price but given my situation, they gave me a higher price for my trade in. So I will finally get my black srt8 this friday. So anyone who lives in bayside queens, and plans on purchasing any jeeps, dodge, or chryslers, stay away from them because they will totally screw you over. (not sure if I am allowed to name dealers but I'm sure you guys can figure it out).

You did the right thing they don't deserve any of your business. In my life experiences I can honestly say 95% of car salesman are scum of the earth, the dealership just wanted to make the extra money on the new SRT it pisses me off for you!
But anyway you can decompress by Friday and enjoy your new baby and look at it this way they may have done you a favor by showing their true colors.

You can name the dealer. I moved your thread as this section includes dealer service.

I'm glad you found another jeep. It's sad that we are hearing more and more cases like this.

You made the right decisions ! not only did you take the high road but you bought the rig from a dealer you can now trust. No amount of savings could persuade me to buy a vehicle from someone i didnt trust. You will always be in fear while getting any sort of service work done otherwise !

Very glad this worked out for you in the end !
Thanks for posting

make sure to take your jeep to that dealer for future warranty work. dealers love doing warranty work on vehicles they didn't sell :D
I would never do this ... I think my previous statement may shed some light.

Where I live in California its common practice. I ordered my Jeeps the first day it was avaliable to order.I ordered 2 one in California. One from Baxter.Baxter's Jeep showed up 8weeks before the one I ordered here in California and was courtesy delivered to a dealer in San Diego. When I got the call from my San Diego dealer that Jeep #2 showed up they wanted 10k over sticker.

WOW, man sorry to hear the headache you went through. I'd never step foot in that dealer again and I would be trying to talk to someone higher about them and the manager. SRT would like to hear about them I'm sure as it is hurting their name. They were all in it for the money and full of lies to you.

Trading a car to another dealer does NOT involve driving it, it can easily be shipped or slapped on a tow truck, that dealer just didn't want to take the 10 minutes to set something up.

Glad to hear you found a better dealer and picked up a jeep.
