So i just picked up my Jeep from the shop where I had the 180 Tstat install as well as my Trinity w/ a tune. Paid 170 for everything and questioning my 0-60 time.

I ran a few trails and I only could get 5.2 out of it. That doesn't seem right based on conversions and times on the forum. I also have a full k & n CAI.

I need help guys, should I be faster with those simple mods and a custom tune? My impression is that I should be high 4's....????

K & N CAI
180 TSTAT
Diablosport Trinity
Catchcan (not installed yet)

I now it's nothing crazy, but based on several conversations I have seen on here I had the impression that I should be a little faster then 5.2..

Stock is 4.4 to 4.8 seconds as reported by car magazines. Your results may vary depending upon many variables.

New Mexico is higher altitude. What is the alt. where your located? Im thinking for where you are you are right where you should be on your 0-60.

Then you are probably OK. Who did your tune?

I dyno shop here in Hobbs.. So 5.2 is where I should be then?

Or should I look at having Johan do the tune?

That sounds right. I started modding my WK1 while I was in Roswell. Similar altitude. Started around 5.5-6.0 seconds stock for 0-60. After Volant CAI, Johan tune, and catch can got down to 5.0 seconds 0-60. So you're sounding like you're in the right times.

BTW, with my first custom tune in Roswell Johan said I was "de tuned" some because of the lack of quality gas in Roswell. Only Sams club sold 91.

Now fast forward to a better tune with 93 octane gas (same mods) and below 1000' elevation and the same jeep would run 4.0 second 0-60 with ease.

Yeah the gas here is awful. I can only find 90 octane so the guy tuned me at 91 CAI.

Alright thanks for your help guys, I was just concerned whether I wasted $75 or not..

Corsa exhaust and Kooks headers are next so hopefully that gets me a little more too..

Who did your tuning? Get with Johan if you haven't. You'll definitely see a difference with a custom tune from Johan even with the poor gas quality.

Remember, Jeep recommends 91 octane minimum. But I know how it goes in the small towns over there. It's hard to come by.

Get a AFR Gauge if you want to start tuning and really dial it in perfect , you can still run slow with a tune if your fuel is dead off :)

Yes for Flat ground, TC off, and floor it, but not autostick...
Autostick will shift on its own. Drop it in first, and punch it!
I have a CAI, Borla S, Catch Can, and I'm at 4.5 secs.
Got my Trinity, but haven't messed with it because I shut my Jeep down in the winter.

A guy here in Hobbs that does custom tunes and dyno tunes. I'll have to get with Johan. What is the process to get a tune from him?

Yeah he wrote my tune.. But I don't know exactly what he did. I was to excited to try it out that I didn't ask him. I need to talk to him.

Based on what Mongoose said, altitude has a lot to do with it too. I'm at 3600ft which is high....
