the guy that is selling his srt8 stated that he has a switch to turn off the 4wd and make it rear wheel drive all with a flip of a switch. this sounds fishy to me cause i owned a jeep before and i didn't know u can do that with out taking out the from drive shaft. is what he is telling me possible?

Yes it is/was possible. However while it does work the Jeep will now need a new transfer case because of it & that switch & wiring should be removed & never used again.

Jim
You don't need to take out the driveshaft, but you do need to remove the transfer case motor. I agree with Jim that the TC is probably fried if the owner used this "switch" a lot.

any way to test that? if the transfer case is fried.
I'd stay away, unless he wants to remove it and return it.

You may be able to hear it or you may not have 4wd at all
find one unmodded as i try with every vehicle maybe bolt ons but nothing like this that might cause you trouble in the near future
