Are the updated maps worth it?

I think the stock Navi absolutely blows and wouldn't upgrade if they paid me. Lol. Do you happen to have an iPhone? I just downloaded mapquests free navi app with voice turns and it rocks. I have a vent mount for the iPhone in the middle drivers side vent and its perfect.

Im an android man, my razr has a great nav system on it, but I just like using the bigger screen with the jeep nav. I don't find it bad, in fact using the nav with the voice prompt is very easy, just tell it city and street. I use in 3d mod. The nav systems befor the 08 were bad. I could not stand it. In fact that is why I traded in my 07 for my 08 lol.
Do the updates with either software or maps change the whole system?

They lowered the price. I believe it is down to $150 and the new version is out.

I have not upgraded but the Jeep has a newer version than the Challenger and it does show updated roads in our area. They finished a bypass a couple of years ago that I drive every day to work and the Challenger shows I'm driving through a field.

Upgrading the MyGig software itself fixes application bugs but makes no map updates. Updating Gracenotes adds tag support for newer music. You can do these upgrades for free.

Current version is a year old. The new 2012 update is scheduled to be released in a couple months.

The Jeep and Challenger use the same update discs.

Agh so I should wait a little to make Aurelius I get the latest update. I never used anything with the my gig at all on any of my SRT's lol, sad I know. I just use the rear DVD for my daughter , front for my porn lol, and the u connect for phone calls with my android that I love.
So the stupid question is how to you use the my gig and or put music/pictures on it. Can I transfer files from mmipad to it? What is it really like a in car iPod?
