A good OBD II scanner

5558 Views 6 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  [email protected]
I'm trying to figure out what kind of OBD II scanner would be worth having. I use the Predator for the jeep but I usually need to go to Autozone every so often to read a code on my wifes car. Be really handy to do it at home... Just wondering if anyone out there uses one...

Believe it or not, but if you have an Android phone you should seriously check out the Torque app - http://www.300cforums.com/forums/1039411-post1.html. You can check and clear codes, but it does a lot more. I have the paid version.

Here's a couple of videos...

I have an Autoxray 3000.
Wait for one to go on sale at your local auto parts store...bound to be tons of sales on them pre-Christmas.

I did that years ago and picked up an Equus Innova 3100 for $90 (regular $150 at the time I think). Can read and clear codes, gives a rough definition if it's a general code, and tells all kinds of stats along with the code too.
