Have any of you installed one of those floating screen head units in your wk1? They have a 9” or 10” screen that sits past the unit itself. I’m considering getting one and wondering if anyone else has one they can share experience with. It will be going in an 08. Pic below for example.

As a general advice, I'd say if budget permits, go with a reputable brand like Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer. Cheap Android devices may wor just fine, but the UI is not necessarily as good, and installation may be a hassle.

I put a cheap Erisin device on my daugters Alfa, that specific device works fine, but I really had to do some detective work to make sure I got the best possible unit, as there are loads of options out there.

Yea I’m going with a higher end model. Most likely alpine or pioneer. I’m just wondering if anyone has installed one in their wk1. I don’t want to get one and have it either not fit or have the screen break. I had an old flip out unit break on me when I hit a pothole years ago and I’d rather not deal with that again.
