hey everyone,
need some help on deciding whether or not to go with a 426 hemi or stick with the 6.1, i've been looking around through different threads but still im not entirely sure on making that jump?
also any good s/c kits for 426, and performance stats with the new engine? :)

PWR 414 boost motor with a Procharger F1 FTW!!!! You will need a lot more than just those two to items to get you going...drivetrain/trans, a ton of supporting mods, fuel system etc...
Depends on your budget and power wants. Manny in Sydney (Aussy SRT) will be getting a package
in about 6 weeks;)

ahhh well i was gonna suprise the country.. looks like cats out of the bag lol

i think ill stay 6.1, the driveabilty is great and fuel consumption for everyday is bad enough ,, 19l per 100kms at 1.60 a litre makes my working week fuel bill 120bucks..
a 7.0l especially on a jeep will be hell..
chuck jr,, where bouts you at man? be good if we do this at the same time and come out guns blazing on wed night at wsid. and start a trend,, we need more REAL mopar fans down here,, every tosser is holden (g8) or xr6 turbo (ford) i have been pushing Modern Mopar for 3 years now ,, its slowly starting to take on, i got 2 426 in the build for 300c but Nuffin for jeeps, other than a couple vortech ones, lurking round the traps..
so far i have gone mid 11's now im hunting for 10;s lol.. yep power is everything and awd is the control
That piping under the jeep is just crazy, very nice craftsmanship :).....whats the chances of hitting something on the road and damage one of the pipes

What are you going to do with the motor?

Boost?

N/A?

Nitrous?
Actually, a well tuned 426 stroker will get the same mileage as a stock 6.1 believe it or not. And not effect to daily driving will be noticed. Just don't go to big on the cam.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm very interesting.. i havnt been able to better the economy on jeeps yet even with cmr, you can command wahtever you want in the maps but closed loop will correct itself aiming for stoich ( ive tried tellin ecu that stoich is 15.0 :1 to trick it , but no joy) it just gives the car what it wants nomatter what,, 14.65 so i was assuming being more AIR thirsty the fuel would command the same,, resulting in higher fuel consumption,,, mmm but then again , you dont press the pedal as much to acheive same effort so i guess its a relative thing,, just have to try it i guess,

from what i can see if you hit something on the road id be more worried about the front bar that sits alot lower ,, :banana_hitit:

I am getting 14.7 Average MPG's with my 426 (7L). It's better than my 6.1 which was averaging 13.2.
every one is different , my daily drive is stop start traffic.. if im lucky i get a mile or 2 of 40mph of freedom , on freeway i see good numbers though ,, look im not saying 7lt is a bad idea, not in the least, im just being practical and level headed about my total running costs. they add up ,
if a 6.1 runs so much fuel . then a 7lt has to run more , there is no other way of calculating it , just to keep mixture correct at ANY given point requires more fuel to maintain desired mixtures,
for me i have to eliminate highway driving as i dont do much at all , so stopping and starting entering pe mode , braking , etc etc, the 7lt for me will be a 10 percent hike..
do i wish i could run a 7lt?? hell yeah!!! the sheer bottom end increase , the mid range , the top end freight train feel... OHHH YEAH ID LOVE ONE <
