Wow! Why such a huge difference in power and torque? Sounds more like turbo diesel truck numbers, lol.

Notice the custom aluminum front scoop on the viper. Had to make that
because a nitrous back fire blew upwards thankfully and gave that scoop
a 1 second 60'ft time.

After seeing all these big turbo builds,it seems like torque is generally lower than horsepower. Let alone 300tq higher. Just weird to me.

Thats normal when using forced induction at high powers.
990tq Just isn't "normal" for the builds that Ive seen .. kudos if its the norm around your parts though ! thats awesome

Yes hes exactly right especially since I had extra mufflers/back pressure to keep it extra quiet for my hoidy toidy neiborhood. Thought about nitrous on the jeep but after 20 yrs
of faaking with it....na. Nitrous seems simple and cheap at first, but its a risky game.
You'll need to be checking and changing plugs often to ensure all is good. bottle pressure,
getting filled and when you want it for a race on the street your never ready as you have
to heat the bottle, and have a auto opener. All in all time and money wise for 2-3 g more
you can vortech it. Also nitrous can faak up cats if you still have me. We've have
several fires...

990 was the initial hit # and then it dropped and leveled out.
Vipers torque with nitrous is always 1-2 hundred higher than HP depending on the
install.

I agree. It it a V10 truck motor (lol) designed for torque. Nitrous is torque in a bottle. You'll see similar numbers in most V8 Stroker applications as well. My brothers 414ci 351 based Stroker made similar numbers on a 150-160 shot through an automatic.

Tq jumps up like that when the camshaft is too small for the engine. Your building up too much exhaust pressure and killing upper rpm hp. The viper motor barely breaths up top as it is. Take the current camshaft and extend exhaust duration out by 8 degrees and watch hp take off.

Im working with King Motorsports on a Viper build right now with a 500 shot.
