I have a question and maybe sounding like a dumbass but here it goes. Are all the engine block options that are available for the WK1 the same as the 6.1 except for cubic inches??? To try and help with what im asking i will try to explain.
6.1 headers will bolt to 392/426/440????
6.1 heads will bolt to 392/426/440????
6.1 transmission will bolt to 392/426/440????
That's what I was thinking but just wanted reassurance. So that also make all oil and water passages the same also right??? Feel free if anyone else wants to input.
Iam wanting to go super charged but my reasoning for asking is if I do heads and a super charger and then later on decide I want a different block ( i.e. 426/440) I didn't want to have to deal with buying heads or cams again for a different block.
Well the 440 won't be good for a supercharger unless you go aluminum block, big $$$ there, and a good boosted stup would be a 414 or 419 built for boost, if you did heads cam supercharger now, then you'd want to build everything up along with it as well, not just the motor, trans, fuel system to go along with the power you'd make. Your best bet would be to do it all at once vs piecing that stuff at different periods, you'd save a lot more money in the long run if you did it at once as well vs pulling everything you do now off just swap the block out.
I know what fuel setup I'm gonna go with....I'm just trying to figure my motor setup and then to the trans and transfer case since there the weakest links.
As far as long term once its super charged it will always be maybe a little spray but my ultimate goal is to get a super charged motor running in the 6's in a 1/8th mile
