I thought I had put on alot of miles, I'm at 2800. Did you do the first oil change? Owners manual says first is at 6k miles, but my evic is telling me it is due now...3500 miles on her now. Have driven in the rain, snow, on ice, and of course nice dry roads.
all good- no squeaks, rattles or problems so far.
The beast is running smooth- and seems to get a little faster too. Ran a 12.9 (best on Evic so far) on that same long flat country road I first ran 13.3, then 13.0 flat on before I hit that 12.9 at track. And remember- 6 runs at track with each showing a slower time on the evic than the timeslip by one or two tenths. and todays run of 12.9 was with 3/4 tank and some luggage.
anyway- as a daily driver- it is already moving towards the top of my favorites list as far as fun to drive, of the many cars I have owned. (several SRT8s, BMWs, CTS-V, etc..) It is a great vehicle. Its buttoned down on hard driving on the curves, and just as smooth cruising at 80. Have had it up to 130 so far (it gets there so effortlessly) and it feels totally planted and in control. The exhaust is opening up a bit too and sounding more aggressive..
yes-- changed it at 3000.I thought I had put on alot of miles, I'm at 2800. Did you do the first oil change? Owners manual says first is at 6k miles, but my evic is telling me it is due now...
yes- the stock tires. Now granted- it was not a foot of snow, but it was a good 5 inches. Ran through that like a warm knife in butter. great traction in slushy, icy conditions as well.Mine has a couple small squeaks and rattles . (I'm at 1500 miles). Strangely, though, it disappears and reappears at random, but most of the time, it's the sharp bumps that causes it.
However, this is not the first time I've had squeaks and rattles on a new car....I've owned BMW's, Lexus, and Volvo's that had squeaks and rattles within the first few months of ownership.
Hey SRT8/BMW, did you drive in snow on stock tires?
I didn't know you got one! Next time you are up in Denver or meeting with Phil, give me a shout...I'd love to see it in person.good to see a good review come out. I also am enjoying the hell out of mine and dont thing some give it the credit is def. deserves. Not sure if some are intentionally bashing it to make themselves feel better about their WK1's and/or not spending the 60K-65K or whatever, but let me assure you that even though it isnt a WK1 is still gets my approval...I am at 430miles on mine and am loving it so far...loving it more and more with each mile as it seems to pick up power along the way. The looks IMO, it actually isnt wider and taller compared to the stock WK1, i sat there examining mine next to Phil's and the sit the same height with his stock springs on. once there is a kit for the WK2 i think people will change their minds on looks. and while the interior isn't phantom level i'd have to say it is nice...love the CF trim and how quality it looks in the sunlight...with each passing day the WK! is looking more outdated (but still desired and loved). I dont see my WK1 and my WK2 in the same light, but then again i wouldn't compare my WK2 to a stock/near stock WK1 either. I am both proud and fortunate to have 2 SRT8's, Jeep SRT8's, in the garage.
