Well the stock 295/45/20 measures to a 30.45" tall.

The 315/35/20 measures to a 28.68" tall tire.
The 275/40/20 measures to a 28.66" tall tire.

That's a differences of about 1.79" to 1.77", that's quite a bit from the stock tires.

So putting 315's on a 2012 Jeep will lower it almost 2 inches? Might be a good alternative to lowering springs.
I dunno man. The truck itself will sit lower but the wheel well openings will still be there plus the ride might get very uncomfortable with the skinny rubber. Like mlarco52 says, the difference between stock is quite big!

It will lower it .9 inches roughly, and his comment was directed at Kokanee not 5000HD.

I also think it will look goofy as there will be way too much wheel well space, peoples best bet will be to wait for a proper kit which eibach is already in the process of making and releasing soon apparently.
