Realization, by the time I build an engine, fuel system, turbo kit, tune, then get an aftermarket transmission that will still eventually break....
2015 Srt-8 - $35,000
Built engine $15,500
Fuel system $3,000
Turbo kit - nice one - $6,500 - $10,000
Tune - $1500
Transmission that will still fail if pushed to hard - $10,000
Rear end - $ 8,000
Transfercase - ????
Plus all the headaches, labor and time involved and all just to be possibly be a second faster than a stock trackhawk and still possibly break, I mean lets face it, the only wk2 in the 9's don't have srt8 badges on them. Hmm, Even the built 8-10k transmissions fail, due to the clutches in the 8 speed trans not being big enough to handle the abuse.
Only cure, is to spring for trackhawk drivetrain to install in the srt8 and try to get it to work. (Headache)
Is it worth it?
I think I'm gonna sit this one out and save up for a used 2018 Trackhawk. I should be able to drop 30k down on one this time next yr.
Just trying to be smart about it.
