Sunroof Rattles

My sunroof rattles when going over expansion joints or uneven pavement. Anybody have experience with this and know of any possible fixes or solutions. Any help is much appreciated as for i love the truck and don't want to sell it just for this issue but it drives me insane when i hear it. Thanks

it's a 2008 and i have had it for about 16 months already and it only recently started doing this.

Just undo the liner and find the loose bolt. Other sites like 300C forums have had the same issue.

Undo the liner from the sides where the doors are or around the sunroof area?

First thing you want to do is make sure it's closing properly. Follow this link to reseat the roof. http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/s...hlight=sunroof

If that doesn't do it and in my case when mine was rattling it was a piece of sheetmetal coming into contact with the sliding mechanism. What I did was open the roof and then pulled the headliner down a little to peak in between the headliner and roof. I didn't remove the headliner. The rattle in my case was by the back corner of the sunroof on the drivers side. I tapped around recreating the noise, found it and bent the metal up and away.

Lastly if you have the rear dvd those things can rattle too so check that.

Start with the easy stuff. Try lubing the weatherstrip around the sunroof first. That took care of my squeaks.

I just went in my garage and opened the sunroof and looked inside the side that rattles. With my flash light I can see this little black screw that is almost all the way out. It connects to the roof.

It looks to be a torx bit screw. It's a little guy right next to the free rails.

same problem here. but been too cold outside to try and fix it.

mine seems to be rattling from the back corner passenger side

From what I can see there are only two bolts on the side. Slide the sunroof back and take a look. They both should be tight. Mine clearly loose.
