Alright I am just looking for some info on changing out the transmission. Is it a large task that should be done by a shop or can it be done at home. I have a lift and most tools just never really got involved in any trans work. I repdlaced the valve body but all that is taking a cover off.
Thanks for any input you guys can offer.

just off the top of my head. gotta remove Tcase, cross member, bell housing bolts can be a pain in the A$$!! front driveshaft. and all lines. If you have a lift and the right tools. you can have it out in a few hours im sure. and i would guess install is reversal of removal. Just keep all your parts, nuts, bolts in order. take pics if ya need to. Should be pretty straight forward.

Not too difficult, I've swapped several in my garage without a lift. unbolt front/rear driveshafts from the tcase, remove tcase, disconnect electrical connector, disconnect shift linkage, unbolt tc bolts from flexplate, remove bell housing bolts. You will need to support the rear of the trans after taking the tcase out.
That's about it in a nutshell.
Make sure the 2 dowels come out with the transmission and don't get stuck in the block.
Thank you guys for the tips. I will take pics as I go so I have something to look back at if I get stuck. I am a little nervous but Im sure I will get through it.
I marked the driveshafts but it was not there when I went back to install the front driveshaft. Will this cause me to have a small vibration problem. I took the truck out and all gears seem to shift alright and no crazy noise coming from the engine or trans. I take it out and slowly roll it into boost and I get a vibration under my feet. It kinda feels like it could be my front DS. The rear DS was put back the same way those marks stayed on. I changed flex plate new torque converter and new trans.
I have to take mid pipes back out to address a leak between the headers and mid pipe so getting to the front drive shaft will be easy but is there anyway check the front DS.
