WK1 Troubleshooting / Problems Discussion / Dealer ServiceIf you are having some problems with your Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and need assistance in troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem, this is the proper place to discuss it. Were you treated fairly or poorly at a dealer? Warranty issues? Let us know.
If I wasnt towing a bunch of stuff all the time it would be a no brainer to keep it but I'm just nervous the stress of towing will eventually cause a major failure of something... and because the jeep is in awesome condition, they offered $23,600 for a trade.
i have 140k and only had 2 issues. at 120k i lost a lifter which wiped out the cam. no biggy i was going to change the cam anyways. and 2nd was the electric fan died around 110k.
I also do the normal maintenance and i have also changed shocks and springs.
Well the fan was $110 and the other stuff was $4000. I did all the work myself so that's just parts. I didn't need $2000 heads but figured why not since they're off.
I do a fair amount of towing as well and I'm hitting 82k. I still have the extended warranty so I'm hanging on till it expires. If something breaks or goes terribly wrong, I'm not paying!!!
What i do is buy a extended 7/100,000 warranty and when its up i get rid of the car unless a bargin comes along as i did this time. I wont keep a car without some kind of warranty no matter how many miles it has.

Drop a 426 in it along with a built tranny she should be happy for another 100+K miles.
I agree!! go with builder bill tranny and t case! Stay n/a on it though dont go turbo or s/c. My 426 ran good until I put a s/c on it and now im having troubles.

If I'm not mistaken there's at least one member on here with a DISC, 120k, and was running the stock trans with his set up till recently. Like people have said, good maintenance and keeping up with your truck and these rigs seem to be pretty tough. I've beat on mine since I got it with 23K and never had an issue with it. Bolt on a procharger and have some fun lol!!

Mine has 130k+ and it is fine just a few lil noises here & there, but I want to keep the jeep and maybe do heads cam in near future, but I don't tow like you do.
I think the 23k deal is decent trade in though
