Great weather, crummy roads! Finally getting rid of the OE Run Flats – same front tire issues as the rest. Can someone recommend the best set of rubber for a daily driver? Would like to improve ride quality but keep the clover/freeway on-ramps exciting. Would like to go the 275/315 route.
The rears are in great shape (10K), do most dump them or offload on ebay/CL?
Andrew, Vredesteins are the best tires you can buy for the price, in my opinion. Performance Plus Tire in Long Beach carries them in stock, which is rare. I've bought two sets from them now. Great people. Vreds will do wonders and make it feel like a whole new rig.

Thank you for the recommendations. Did you use the 275-40-20 & 315-35-20 combination or did you change the side profile? Also, I am in the market for brakes and I know this is not the best location for a recommendation but….I see you have the R1 Rotors/Stoptech pads. Can you recommend a particular rotor/pad combination?
I am a big proponent of the Toyo Proxy STII's. Love the ride of them on my jeep. Never really had any traction issues. I am running the 275/315 setup. It is definitely the way to go no matter what tire you get.

Hahaha! That's true! I've actually driven with 5 different types of tires on our rigs, and the Vreds are hands down my favorite in terms of general performance. They are amazing in the rain as well, even though there isn't much of that in So Cal, haha. And like I said, for about $1000, it's the best bang for the buck.
And in terms of the brakes, I've also had lots of different setups, and the R1 Rotors with the Stoptech pads are the best. The Hawks are horrible, stay away!
Like I said, this is all my personal preference, but I've been able to compare it to a lot of different setups.
Ordered the Vredesteins from Performance Plus and the R1 Rotors W/ Stoptec Pads from Steve @ R1. Thank you for the great advice and recommendations...You save me about $2000 today and an unnecessary sodomizing at the dealership.
I have had the Jeep since April 2006 and this will be my second set of tires/brakes. Previous times I was a knucklehead and used the OEM stuff from the dealers – very excited for the enthusiast components.
