The first night with the new car, 2130 Mineral Gray, the EVIC went out. So the next day I called the dealer and made an appointment. There were two issues, the EVIC, and a missing trim piece on the interior of the passenger door.
They want to keep the car for a week and a half while they wait for the new EVIC to be shipped.
As if that doesn't suck enough, they won't provide a loaner or even a rental.
I'll wait til after Christmas to deal with it so I can have a car over my vacation. Thankfully I set up most of my options within those first 6 hours of ownership.
This is a major blow after owning a $40,000 Lexus. Wether for major warranty work, or a simple oil change, I always got a nice loaner car from Lexus.
I was hoping my first post would be about how awesome this new SRT8 is. Instead, I need to warn people that when you spend upwards of 60k on a Jeep, you are treated as if you bought a used Avenger.
In January I'll call Chrysler to see what they can do. It just sucks that I need to make a dozen phone calls to get decent service, or be willing to spend $700 for a rental car while my new car is in the shop.
that is a noted issue with the mineral gray. should have billiant black. just kidding but, sorry to hear about your bad situation. once the dealer fixes are done and your emotions go away you will be happy with your purchase. just wondering is this a first time purchase from that dealer? my dealers have always taken care of me.
Wow, that's pathetic they didn't give you a loaner I have a wk1 and was offered a loaner when it was in for warranty work...
Did you ask for a loaner or was it just never brought upon you?
Call the SRT hotline on the drivesrt webpage. Sounds like a crappy dealer and Chrysler needs to know about it. No need for them to keep ur truck while parts are on order.

I guess it all depends on the dealership. You get one of those little old Jeep/Chyrsler dealerships, then their service/body shop department don't have enough budget for customer transportation (pick up and drop off during service) or loaners.
It's not an universal thing that all Jeep dealers have loaners. Remember, these dealerships are privately owned so it's really up to the owner to see if they are willing to fork out a loaner car service = more expense on their part!
Either way, you're right, your new Jeep shouldn't had those issues, hopefully the rest of your ownership on this car has less hassel!

the dealer has no right at all to keep the car until the parts are there for installation.
