WK1 Troubleshooting / Problems Discussion / Dealer ServiceIf you are having some problems with your Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and need assistance in troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem, this is the proper place to discuss it. Were you treated fairly or poorly at a dealer? Warranty issues? Let us know.
I have the same noise. Brought it to dealership and they replaced lifters.
That still did not fix the issue. They are now replacing the shortblock under warranty.
Still driving it until new motor arrives. It's been over 3 months but it should arrive in 2 weeks.
Not sure what it could be but I am getting a new motor so....
Mileage on it is 50000miles.
Good luck with yours.
where'd you have the oil change done ... reputable shop? dealer?
I get it done by Mr. Lube, who have been doing my fluid changes for 4 years. I think it is mostly age and I am not financially ready for a new motor, or for the shop to have it for more than a couple days.
You can always use a long shaft screwdriver as a make shift stethoscope to help isolate the noise. Press the handle to your ear and the other end to what you think is making the noise.

Have u taken any logs? Maybe try a vacuum test or leak down test to see what kind of results u get. If they come clean it may jus be the infamous hemi tick but that seems loud for it to be that.
