WK1 Troubleshooting / Problems Discussion / Dealer ServiceIf you are having some problems with your Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and need assistance in troubleshooting and diagnosing the problem, this is the proper place to discuss it. Were you treated fairly or poorly at a dealer? Warranty issues? Let us know.
Hey fellow members, I have been hearing a ticking noise in the engine area when the vehicle is running. Whenever I bring the RPMs up it speeds up as well. Is this the lifters? What is the easiest way for me to fix this myself?
Oil is good. Just got it done 2 weeks ago, and that was the first thing I did. I think it is a lifter noise.
I did a short video of the noise. Hope it helps.
Did you check the oil though? Just cause you got it done 2wks ago doesn't mean anything unless you go check it yourself. Some places, even dealers, have to been known to only put 5qts in instead of the required 7qts.

sounds like a valve train issue to me. take the valve covers off, pull out the fuel pump relay and have someone turn the motor over and see if you can pin point exactly where it's coming from. that's what i'd do.
