yeah i feel ya as far as the spending time on the phone goes.
i spent about 25 minutes on the phone with chase ... mostly me asking questions like where'd the person get caught n what time n stuff like that. they couldn't tell me until they had a finished police report. they'll call me when it's all said n done and let me know.

either way it's a PITA and it sucks.

Pretty sweet that the ATM sucked it in and nobody got their hands on it

my guess would be that they all do that. I never knew until then. Cool feature, saved me some trouble.

They do. I had it happen to me at my banks drive up ATM a couple months ago. Went back in a couple days later when I realized it was gone to get a new card. Instead, they handed me my old card back. If I had gone in a day later, they would have shredded the card.

I just got money from the ATM at the bank yesterday & noticed they changed the steps & make you take your card back right after you put it in before you do anything else instead of waiting till the end to take your card like before. Probably a lot of people doing the same thing you did Zac.

I had mine stolen about 8 years ago.. The day before my 21st bday I went to Taco bell to get some food late night and chick said my card was declined.. I was like I know I have 2.50 in my account.. Went to the bank the next day and asked what charges had been made and they were all legit.. I had recently purchased lots on ebay and then I started thinking more and I went to the main branch of the bank and a girl I knew walked up to me and told me I was on a list for her to call today about my debit card.. Somone had tried to purchase 100k in jewerly in Russia. Im assuming I got the number jacked on ebay. No money was taken from my account but Still sucked not having a debit card to go out for my bday.. I now carry decent amount of cash at all times.. But use my debit card most of the time.
