Oh you know it John, someone definitely was. I was on the freeway, not speeding, I was maybe doing 60, and this car in front of me all of a sudden swerved, only to realize that they were trying to avoid a big ass garbage can smack in the middle of the freeway. I obviously did not want to hit it either because my car was my baby, and I swerved as well. Problem was I had turned my traction control off a few minutes before, so when I swerved, I didn't want to hit the car next to me, so I swerved back. Too much swerving and I lost control, the car went straight into the center divide, then spun around twice, so I actually ended up hitting the center divide 3 times.
The car was HIGHLY modified. Anything that was an option for my car at the time I had. I think I was running something like 13lbs of boost. So on the last hit into the wall, it must of hit the gas line or something, because the entire engine bay went into flames within seconds. My adrenaline kicked into high gear and I was out of that car in two seconds. I got knocked out for a split second but that was it. I ran like hell only to turn around 30 seconds later and see the entire car up in flames. Someone was watching over me, that's for sure.
They thought I broke my hip, and as it turns out, the only permanent damage to myself is that I lost feeling in half my knee from it hitting the steering wheel so hard when I crashed. Also had a concussion and that was it. Couldn't walk for a few days but then I was back to normal in no time. I feel incredibly blessed to be alive today. People wonder why I am very selective about when I use my Jeeps power. This is why. Not that I was speeding that day, but that just scares you straight.
BTW: This happened 5 years ago....

I would go with the Ferrari 430 scuderia or the Porsche 997 turbo s only for the fact I would have to drive a manual car, it's half the fun!
Wow I can't believe you came out with the only injuries you did, Miracles do happen and it just goes to show anything can happen at anytime, really gotta be aware
and drive defensively. Glad you're ok minus the hip issue!!
