unless you are buying a classic a car all cars will depreciate. how fast is all over the board. the jeeps GC's are at best worth 50% over 5 years. with the modes that most do here it's more like 40% if not lower. personally i knew that coming in and i don't care. i bought a 2012 in July at the end of the model year. happy with the deal. took a few weeks and trips to different dealers but that is part of the game. if you want the newest toy on the street you gotta pay. in speaking with my dealer they have held onto a 2013 SRT alpine with a 5k vig just because of the traffic and advertising. not to mention all the other dealers calling in for it. just make sure you are comforatable with the deal you make and know that it isn't an investment.
I'm friends with a former Chrysler dealer in the Houston area, they never made their money on new cars. They make the big bucks on service and used.
Yeah - that's because they absolutely rob you on trade in values! Never trade a car into a dealer if you can help it; you're asking for it... Having said that, I keep ignoring my own advice and end up doing it when I become impatient...
I have to say the dealers are not at 100% fault for the pricing, Jeep is the one that made a mediocre Jeep and decided to make it cost $70k.
*mediocre is my interpretation of the truck based on a test drive, the cost, and the 10 other vehicles I would buy first before sending that much on a Jeep. Just my opinion, no hate. I liked the truck, I didn't like the $1200 payment they were trying to get out of me.

Why would you expect them to go any lower than that this early in the model year? I think 62K is a good price for a highly desirable car, made in limited numbers. I can tell you that you will not get that price in N California.
This is an Jeep SRT8 with all the options (assuming, given its sticker price), not a Honda Civic!
Either wait until later in 2013, go find a 2012, or pay up and be happy you still got a good deal.
