Dealer's Arrogance Infuriates me

So i was just over at a Jeep dealer trying to pick up a new 2013 jeep srt8. MSRP was 65,000 and change, and they would REFUSE to go any lower than $62,000. Am i really asking for such a big thing here? I asked for 59,500 and they practically told me to get out. Whats the reasonable price I should be paying for these cars?

The dealers in Albuquerque, NM are still smoking crack as well. Beginning of the year they were asking 10k over MSRP on 12's. Those Jeeps sat for a long time, but eventually sold I guess. I was just in the other day for an oil change and they are still marking their prices up 5-9k at various dealers in town. These were on 13's with Aline and Vapor packages. I like the price hike, makes me more rare in town

that price your asking is below invoice and holdback. you can probbaly get to about 61,200---61600

What my main concern is, is the dealer telling the truth telling me their COST is 62,300. That is the information they are giving me.

Make a long haul and save a few grand on a new Jeep. Plus you get a nice long drive to break it in. - that's what I would do if I were in the market for a new SRT, but the wife's got dibs on a new Tahoe so I'm stuck with me 08

You might be able to get a 2012 for between $55 and $58 - but why would you expect a dealer to sell a new 2013 that low? If I were the dealer, I would expect some marginal premium for the newer 2013 model years and not give below invoice or holdback. Heck I waited till the end of October before I could get the dealer to move on the 2012 models.

Yea i am definitely willing to do that, its just difficult finding which dealership is actually willing to give you good prices on these vehicles. I am even willing to look at a 2012 if I can get it at this price.

I would look at Baxter or Champion on here. Talk to the guys from those two dealerships...seem to have a good reputation on here. They can give you the info and pricing that you are looking for in terms of what you should pay. They might even be able to hook you up with the Jeep you are looking for. It can't hurt and the '14 Jeeps will be out in 6 months, so those 2013 you are looking at will be at a better price then I'm sure with the short model year.

i work at a chrysler dealership/my family owns it and i got my wk2 srt8 for $59000 at dead cost for what we bring it in for.. so yes you are asking to little, the dealer still needs to make a profit or there gunna go into the ground.. sorry to be the guy that says that but thats how a buisness works.

I agree with REWY16.. I am all about a good deal, however dealers and local businesses need to make money to stay around. I could see a dealer wanting to unload a 12 for less than cost but a 13 that hasn't been on the lot shouldn't be going for less than 60K. I am from a small town and my local Chrysler dealer doesn't sell the volume of the larger auto malls to make up for selling at a loss. Also you don't see 30 of the SRT 8's just sitting around.. Dealers like to have products like them in their show room to attract people to the dealership and if they dont want to pay 65K for an SRT maybe they will buy something else..
