coolant leak, can't find it, please help

We have a 2008 SRT8 Jeep and recently the upper radiator hose blew but we got that all replaced, pressure tested and everything. Sunday we went for a long drive (3 hours each way), popped the hood when we got back, and the coolant tank is completely dry. The car never got really hot or anything.

Fast forward, yesterday we drove to my buddies shop, topped off the tank, drove it home and let it sit overnight.

This morning, no signs of leaks under the car but the tank is down quite a bit.

Any ideas on this?

When you replaced the radiator hose, did you burp the system to get the air out?

Could it have been air pockets in the radiator? Something you can do is they sell dye that glows under UV light that is used to find leaks.

You can bet on air in the system imo.

enough air to go through the whole tank on the passenger side? Where is the best place to blurp the system, maybe it was done at the wrong point?

any other ideas?

My air bubble was large enough for my motor to start overheating

Always refill at the radiator cap first then let her go thru a heat cycle or 2 then burp her a couple times and u should be ok.

Definitely sounds like air. Bursting a hose causes significant coolant leak, it isn't controlled like replacing it alone. Top it off again and check it in a couple days.
