Great Day at the Dragstrip!

I went to the track today with a buddy of mine (convertible '04 Cobra), my brother ('96 Thunder Chicken) and a quite a few of his T-bird buddies. The weather was pretty much perfect (low to mid 50's with low humidity) and track was prepped quite well.

I ended up doing better than expected and setting a new PB... 12.74 @ 106.84! I made 10 passes today and all of them were between 12.74 and 12.80 with the exception of one 12.86. My best MPH came with the best ET above. And all of my 60 ft were between 1.76 and 1.79. I'd say she's pretty consistent. I played around with using traction control, shutting it off via ESP button and pulling the fuse... as you can tell it didn't seem to matter much.

My brother also managed a new PB in his '96 Thunderbird. He REALLY wanted to see an 11 sec pass but he was only rewarded with a string of 12.03 - 12.08 at 112 - 114 mph passes. He was also very consistent all day long. That T-bird is a big behemoth of a car (over 4k lbs I think) and usually most folks expect nothing out of them. It surprises many a driver. He had some other T-bird buddies there that were running in the 10's! Damn birds are getting it done!

And my buddy in the orange '04 Cobra convertible managed to match his PB at 12.14 around 114 mpg I think. He unfortunately ended the day breaking a half shaft and going home on a trailer. But all in all it was a great day.

My brother's car:

Good times for a CAI and a tune. You put 3mph on my 12.8 time, which mean sir you did a little better on the 60' the trap is still there for a 12.5-12.6 I would think.

Your brother supercharged or turbo?

Most of my runs were 105 mph with two I think at the 106 mark. Not sure if she's gonna run any faster in her current condition. I did log a couple runs and will probably send them to Toona to see if there is any room for improvement.

As for my brother's car, he's got an Explorer bottom end (no different than the 4.6L his car came with except it is an aluminum block), newer heads but still stock, and an SVO blower. Pretty basic setup but definitely gets it done.

So it's the 4.6L bird but with a retrofitted blower from a 3.8L? The M120 from the Terminator is an easier swap, but people have put M60s on just about everything. I've been out of that loop for a while. Either way, very impressive for a car that started out just under 16 seconds stock.

And , sorry my iPhone auto corrected the last post. Sir was supposed to be "means if", lol.

Congrats on the new best! Your Jeep is getting it done with very little mods... I don't know how you got a 13.0x out of yours stock...mine was running 13.4's at DR's. (It was 70+ degrees)

Way to go and a little more tuning you will be in the 7.90s in the 1/8 and 12.50s in the 1/4.

congrats on the times, jeep running well.....that terminator needs some level 5 half shafts and not worry about it again...hard to tell from the pic, but that cobra appears to have the blower pulley cover still on it, most likely is running stock boost? turn the wick up and get some power out of that thing...some drags on it and make some good times....lol.
