Hey guys I was wondering what to do about my exhaust situation. I'm looking to get out the cheapest possible and maximize the performance. So far I've deleted the resonators but I'm torn between deleting the cats or the muffler or both? I plan on just running a shot of nitrous through it every now and again. Anybody care to share some thoughts?
Lol I know they don't go together my Evo has taught me that several times. If it came down to either deleting the cats or putting a performance muffler on what would you guys suggest? Im not wanting to get too crazy with mods and spending money on it just wanna squeeze a few more horses outta it and break the 7 second barrier on the 1/8
Oh ok that sucks haha what about sound wise? I've read about flow master mufflers and magnaflow mufflers but can't recall the part numbers without looking them up. Yea I've got the t stat and cai they seem to work well for the cost plus Ive done the freebie mods and a cmr tune. I just can't justify spending 1000 bucks on an exhaust system that just doesn't make sense to me
Removing your cats and resonators, isn't going to add a lick of performance......In fact, it will reduce backpressure, and make you slower at lower rpm. If you race 1/8 mile, you want as much low end power as possible off the line.

Solo exhaust is less than $1000.
This may be the wrong truck for you if you can't justify spending $1000 on exhaust.....wait till you see how much it costs to modify and repair these things.
You could do mufflers and cutouts if you want to retain backpressure. Obviously you'll loose pressure when their open but you can always close em when you race.

I dropped a fully built Sleeved Long block into my STi for less than a Cam/header install on this jeep
